In Riga, SAPRA members and international partners from several countries gathered for a series of meetings, with participation from Theon Sensors (Greece), Harder Digital, and Scytalys.

The program began with a visit to the SAPRA laboratory in Berģi, where participants explored current development projects and discussed future innovation initiatives. The meetings then continued at the Baltic Photonics premises, providing a platform for in-depth discussions on defense technology trends, cross-sector cooperation, and available national co-financing mechanisms for research and innovation projects.

At Baltic Photonics, participants were joined by Professor Jurijs Dehtjars from Riga Technical University’s Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, who presented ongoing innovation projects involving RTU researchers, lecturers, and students, with particular emphasis on the application of artificial intelligence in emerging technologies. A productive technical exchange followed, leading to an agreement to conduct practical simulation tests at RTU laboratories.

Representatives from SIA “Leveria” introduced available state support mechanisms for SAPRA-led initiatives, detailing partnership structures, co-financing volumes, and project submission procedures. Participants shared insights and experiences regarding similar funding programs, with Theon Sensors contributing examples from Greece and highlighting potential cooperation opportunities.

During an online session, representatives from Scytalys presented their company profile and expressed interest in joining the SAPRA network. Discussions also explored possibilities for further collaboration, including participation in upcoming industry events in Riga.

The meetings concluded with informal discussions, allowing participants to strengthen professional relationships and identify new avenues for cooperation.
