Baltic Photonics Hosted Representatives of LIAA and the Ministry of Defence

Baltic Photonics hosted representatives of the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia (LIAA) and the Ministry of Defence, presenting the company’s laboratory, night vision technology development activities and the advancement of full-cycle manufacturing capabilities in Latvia.

During the visit, representatives were introduced to the company’s operations, manufacturing development plans and future development directions within the defence technology sector.

The meeting included discussions on the development of the new Baltic Photonics manufacturing facility, which will provide a full production cycle - from component development and assembly to the testing of high-precision optical systems and equipment maintenance.

The delegation included Guntars Kniksts, Head of the LIAA Regional Representative Office in Sigulda, Rolands Blezūrs, Senior Investment Lead for Defence and Dual-Use Technologies, and Major General Andis Dilāns, Undersecretary of State for Logistics at the Ministry of Defence.

The parties also discussed the company’s research and innovation activities, which contribute to technology development, the creation of new competencies and the long-term growth of the defence industry.

The visit also included discussions on current industry developments and cooperation between public institutions and defence technology companies in Latvia.
