Baltic Photonics participated in the “Northern Prospects: Bridging Industry and Academia for Dual-Use” conference in Brussels, dedicated to strengthening cooperation between industry, academia and the innovation ecosystem in the field of dual-use technologies

The conference brought together European Union policymakers, research organisations, innovation ecosystem representatives and industry participants from across Europe.

The discussions focused on the practical integration of research results into industry, innovation development mechanisms and strengthening cooperation between the research community and technology companies operating within the security and defence technology sector.

Particular attention during the conference was given to:

  • cooperation models between industry and academia;
  • European funding instruments supporting innovation development;
  • development perspectives for dual-use technologies;
  • integration of research into industrial innovation processes;
  • development of innovation ecosystems across the Nordic and Baltic region.

The conference agenda also highlighted the importance of strengthening Europe’s competitiveness, technological resilience and the ability to accelerate the transition from research to practical application.
